The ‘RheTrust’ research project
examines early modern texts on rhetoric, interpreting them as efforts in social education.
The focus is on how the social perspectives of the authors shaped their approach to teaching rhetoric, thus giving new meaning to the theory and practice of persuasion.
The research conducted within the framework of this project focuses on the meanings of belief, trust, and loyalty in the dynamics of persuasion.
By doing so, it aims to highlight the existence of diverse cultures of trust and strategies for shaping beliefs.
These varying cultures of trust and belief-shaping methods are seen as distinct approaches to conflict management and social inclusion.
The research behind the RheTrust project is funded under the
Young Researchers SOE scheme, which is part of the
Italian Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).
Through this funding scheme, the Ministry of University and Research (MUR) finances the assignment of research grants for young researchers who have received the "Seal of Excellence" in order to encourage their entry or return to Italy.
